Darilyn Manring

Darilyn Manring, cellist, received her BM at Illinois State University, MM at Yale School of Music, and DMA at Boston University. She has concertized throughout the United States as well as in Brazil and has held academic positions at the University of Wyoming, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, University of Bridgeport, Sacred Heart University, and Northwestern State University of Louisiana.

Dr. Manring is currently principal cellist with the  Greater Bridgeport Symphony (CT) under the direction of Eric Jacobsen as well as the Wallingford Symphony (CT) under the direction of Phil Ventre. In addition, she has recorded for Phonodisc in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dr. Manring has been instructing young musicians for over 40 years. She is a cello coach for the Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras and currently teaches at Western Connecticut and in Wilton, Connecticut.
